Akshara Vaagdevi International School students receive book writing tips

The Akshara Vaagdevi International School, in collaboration with the Pallavi Model Schools, held a special assembly on the book review competition on October 23. The guest of the day was Shaanthi Modaali, a soft skills trainer.

The program began with the lighting of a lamp, followed by a prayer and a commitment from the ninth graders. Principal Vanaja welcomed Shaanti Modaali and thanked her for sparing her precious time to spend with Akshara’s little champions. Shaanthi shared his contributions on the English language and said that it is a widely spoken language and barriers are broken down where the world comes together globally on the small screen through the power of the internet. She described the English language as a lingua franca which refers to the teaching, learning and use of the English language as a common means of communication for speakers of different native languages.

A volley of questions was posed to the students which they answered with enthusiasm. One such question was about the analogy of books healing the mind for our physical form. Then it was extended to the Hema faculty of the English department to have a few words about the importance of books, highlighting the ethical duties and about the book review contest with a ppt slideshow.
