Paul Hart Named Vice-Chairman of Fall River School Board

FALL RIVER — The school committee chose veteran member Paul Hart as their new vice president at their first meeting of the new year on Monday.

“I am very honored to get the vote as vice president and I will do everything I can to move the district striker“Hart said.

Hart is now in his fourth term on the committee. Previously, he served three terms, six years in total, on the City Council.

As mayor, Paul Coogan is automatically chair of the committee.

During Monday’s meeting, Mimi Larrivee, a member of the school board, offered to appoint Hart vice president.

Collin Dias, who ran an unsuccessful campaign school board campaign last year, spoke out in favor of appointing Kevin Aguiar as vice-president during the Citizens’ Engagement meeting, saying he trusted Aguiar to talk about the “scheming” on the committee and would counteract what he described as Coogan’s tendency to act as a “pivot”. ”

Kevin Aguiar was the only member to vote against the motion. There was no discussion within the committee on the selection before the start of the vote.
