Academy International School News Roundup

We had a great start Term 3 at The Academy International School with changes in health protocols allowing more interaction between bubble groups and the choice of whether or not to wear a mask.

It’s also nice to have the parents back in the school in the morning and in the afternoon to get the kids to school in primary school. The children were so happy to have their “reading buddies” at school again. The students in primary and EYFS like to share familiar books, they listen to stories and chat, helping to get to know each other.

In the High school our Year 11 and DP2 students have directly resumed the external exam sessions. We are very proud of the hard work of the students and wish them good luck for the exam session.

Congratulations to our IB DP2 Visual Arts students on the great success of their final end-of-course exhibition. Ms. Juncosa was so proud of the very high standards of the artwork, and it was a pleasure to invite parents to view the exhibit.

Art Contest Winner

Congratulation to Zoe in 7th grade for winning a prize for their charity of choice in the Mallorca Fashion Outlet art competition.

Zoé presented the check for €500 to Mallorca Cancer Support at an event held at Mallorca Fashion Outlet. The charity supports English speakers who are affected by cancer and who may need advice, help with hospital appointments and emotional support.

Nursery Gardening and Sports

In the crèche, the children were busy plant tomato seedlings and weed in the garden. Sports day will soon be here, so Mrs. Hannah introduces the children to an exciting obstacle course. They can show off all the skills they have learned and developed throughout the year.

out and about

Our youngest students continued farm trips in different parts of the island and enjoy feeding the animals and exploring the beautiful natural areas of Mallorca!

Reception of students visited Farmhouse S’Olivaret in Alarowhere they made pictures of sheep out of real wool and loved holding baby bunnies.

Year 1 was so lucky with good weather for his trip to Granja d’Esporles, where they had a wonderful time exploring the elegant historic mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens. This tour is linked to the story theme “Houses in the past” and the children were able to see how people lived before the invention of modern appliances. They also visited their farm animals and then had their picnic in the gardens.

Our 3rd graders had an amazing day at Is Burotell. They enjoyed baking cookies, feeding the farm animals, and playing outside in the beautiful space with the fresh mountain air.
