Mother whose son was offered a place at Irish language school despite speaking no Gaelic slams Stormont for transfer mess

The mum of an academically brilliant Belfast boy who didn’t get a place at a grammar school – but was offered a place at an Irish-language school despite speaking no Gaelic – has warned that the children would suffer long-term damage from the transfer fiasco.

Aura Moreland’s 11-year-old son Jack, an A* pupil, was refused a place in all four grammars he chose.
