ROCKLAND – Penobscot Bay Language School is hosting a summer fundraising event “The Maine Way: Celebrating Maine culture, history, the Maine way of life, and a new international destination for people to live, work, and call home!” The event will take place at the school, 28 Gay Street, Rockland, on August 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $35 (or a donation that fits your budget).
Explore Maine art, artists, local maritime history, our many heritage industries, and how the Pine Tree State is attracting new residents from around the world. Engage in discussions with a diverse group of panelists from across the Midcoast region, discussing topics ranging from the job waterfront to the major labor shortages we’re facing right now, and the ebbs and flows of the economy of Maine (past and present). Take part in networking opportunities with Midcoast Mainers from home and abroad, bring the family for games on the lawn and enjoy a Maine delicacy from Luke’s Lobster! This event is a Maine-inspired night for all ages (free admission for children under 12).
Proceeds support Penobscot Bay Language School’s Free ESL of New Mainers program, which provides English language tuition and support to all new Mainers.
