The national weightlifters continued their impressive show on the third day of the Khelo India Women’s National Ranking Weightlifting Tournament for Seniors, Juniors and Youth which is held at the Khelo India Residential Weightlifting Academy at the school Rainbow International in Nagrota Bagwan, Kangra District, Himachal Pradesh. The tournament is organized for the weight categories of 55 kg. Yashpal Singh, Director of Uttar Pradesh Weightlifting Academy, Krishna Raj K, Category 1 International Referee, Nirlep Singh, General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Weightlifting Academy and Category 2 International Referee , Sunil Kumar, Delhi Weightlifting Association Vice President and Category 1 International Referee, K Subramanian Category 1 International Referee, Rajesh Kumar, Treasure, Himachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association, and Category 1 International Referee, honored all the winners at the third weightlifting tournament day. In the young women’s 55kg category, Mina Santa from Odisha won the gold medal with a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while Preeti Yadav from Uttar Pradesh won the silver medal with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. cash prize of Rs 8,000. Anupama Kumari of Jharkhand won the bronze medal with a cash prize of Rs 6,000. Pallavi Chaudhry of Himachal Pradesh received a cash prize of Rs 5,000. In the female category 55kg junior, Shrabani Das from West Bengal won the gold medal with a cash prize of Rs 15,000, while Usha from Haryana won the silver medal with a cash prize of Rs 10 000. Boni Mangkhya from Arunachal Pradesh won the bronze medal with a cash prize of Rs 8,000. The winners, L Nilam Devi from Manipur, Sakshi Ranmale from Maharashtra, Kumkum Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, Mina Santa from Odisha and Bibra Boro from Assam received cash prizes of Rs 6,000, 5,000, 3,000, 2,000 and 1,000 respectively, for their commendable performance. In the senior women’s 55kg category, S Bindyarani Devi from Manipur won the gold medal with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 for creating a new national record by lifting a total of 199 kg. Shrabani Das of West Bengal won the silver medal with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 while Ananya Patil of Maharashtra won the bronze medal with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. L Nilam Devi of Manipur , Sakshi Ranmale from Maharashtra, Pooja Gupta from RSPB, Renu from Himachal Pradesh and Preeti Yadav from Uttar Pradesh received cash prizes of Rs 8,000, 6,000, 5,000, 4,000 and 2,000 respectively , for their commendable performance. Pal Singh Sandhu, Dronacharya Awardee, Pradeep Sharma, Himachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association, and Rajesh Kumar, Treasure, Himachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association and Category 1 International Referee, were honored with souvenirs, Himachali shawls and caps as expressions of affection and reverence. Sehdav Yadav, President of the All India Weightlifting Federation, Pradeep Sharma, President of the HP Weightlifting Association, and Dr. Chhavi Kashyap, Vice President of the Himachal Pradesh Weightlifting Association, congratulated all the winners for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
